Cost doesn't matter, as long as it works!

AEPMA member, Mark O’Brien from Termitedoc Pest Control, based on the NSW Central Coast is a termite specialist.  His business centres on providing termite inspections, pre-purchase timber inspections, treatments of active termites, installation and monitoring of termite baiting systems, perimeter treatments and reticulation systems.  He has trialled Sentricon AlwaysActive in numerous situations since its release, and has had numerous successes:

“When we find active termites, we tend to knock them out with Sentricon Above Ground (AG) baits and at the same time install the AlwaysActive system around the structure.

We had a recent success in the Newcastle area.  We knocked out an active colony in a cubby house with above ground baits and we installed AlwaysActive around the house perimeter.  We’d been checking these for 6-7 months when we found a whole rod had been consumed near some trees.  That client is very happy with the result.  He has lots of animals, including horses, so AlwaysActive was preferred over other stations as they are a little smaller and more solid than others.  We were concerned that some may splinter if the horses walked on them!

Another case was out in the country, in the Hunter.  A fire wood pile had termites which we knocked out with the above ground bait.  Again, we put AlwaysActive stations around the perimeter and we found a second colony came along and consumed the rods.

A third was inside an industrial shed of a winery.  Termites were eating away all of the pallets.  There were two different species of termites there, Coptotermes and Heterotermes.  Again, same thing.

So, it does work!

With Sentricon AlwaysActive, I really like how the treatment is under way before you’ve even arrived with your subsequent visit.  You can also stretch the visits out a bit, compared to other products.  It’s a bit more foolproof than other systems, so that’s a big advantage with AlwaysActive.

The actual cost of the system doesn’t really matter, as long as it works.”
